Federal Agents Conduct Raid At Newsom’s Speech

Federal agents conducted an apparent immigration raid near the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo, where Governor Gavin Newsom was speaking about his redistricting plan. ⁠

The operation, involving about 100 masked and armed agents, was perceived as an attempt to intimidate, prompting Newsom’s office to post on social media, “BORDER PATROL HAS SHOWED UP AT OUR BIG BEAUTIFUL PRESS CONFERENCE! WE WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED!” Mayor Karen Bass called the raid “unbelievably disrespectful” and a “provocative act,” noting its proximity to a widely publicized event.⁠

Huntington Beach Police Have New Drones That Can Respond To Emergencies

The drones are equipped with cameras and thermal imaging technology, allowing officers to quickly assess situations from above. This capability helps improve officer safety and allows for faster decision-making during critical incidents.⁠

Foreign Investor Quietly Buys $65M In Malibu Real Estate Destroyed By Fires

A mystery foreign investor has quietly acquired nine oceanfront lots in Malibu, totaling over $65 million, devastated by January 2025 wildfires, with plans to rebuild luxury homes. Drake’s legal team has intensified their defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), filing motions on August 12, 2025, to compel UMG to release CEO Lucian Grainge’s documents, Kendrick Lamar’s unredacted contract, and other financial records to prove UMG’s alleged role in promoting defamatory content in Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” UMG continues to resist, claiming Grainge had no significant involvement, while Drake’s team argues these documents are critical to exposing UMG’s motives and misconduct.
