IN THE NEWS

MALIBU AND SANTA MONICA BEACHES TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO RUNOFF

Due to recent rains and the transportation of fire debris to the coast, the ocean waters from Malibu to Santa Monica are currently off-limits. This closure, mandated by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, extends from Las Flores State Beach in Malibu to Santa Monica State Beach.

The county has warned that “fire debris runoff and pollutants in the water and on the sand may contain toxic or carcinogenic chemicals.” This closure will remain in effect until further notice.

An Ocean Water Quality Rain Advisory is also in place for all beaches in Los Angeles County, lasting until 8 a.m. on Thursday, following the rainstorms earlier this week which introduced potentially harmful bacteria to the coastal areas.

Additionally, a separate Water Quality Advisory will continue past Thursday due to the ongoing risk of fire debris entering the ocean. This advisory affects beaches from Surfrider Beach to Las Flores State Beach in Malibu and from Santa Monica State Beach to Dockweiler State Beach at World Way in Playa del Rey.

👌: Perfect For - A Chill Day With The family

Chulita, located at 5160 W Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90061, is a vibrant addition to the dining scene of Los Angeles, offering a taste of modern Mexican cuisine in a setting that's both casual and inviting. This spot has quickly become a favorite for those seeking an authentic yet innovative culinary experience.

When it comes to service, Chulita stands out with its friendly and attentive staff. They are passionate about the food they serve, often sharing insights about the dishes or recommending pairings from their cocktail menu, which celebrates mezcal and tequila. The service here is efficient, making your dining experience pleasant whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal.

Chulita is an excellent choice for family outings. The menu's diversity, featuring everything from vegan options to traditional Mexican dishes, ensures there's something for every palate. The tacos, especially, are a hit with both kids and adults for their fresh, bold flavors. The atmosphere is laid back yet lively, with a neighborhood vibe that's welcoming to families. Outdoor seating is available, which can be a bonus for those with young children who might need a bit more space to move around.

Regarding hours of operation, Chulita is open from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM from Monday to Tuesday, 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM on Wednesday, 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Thursday, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Friday, 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sunday. This makes it convenient for both brunch and dinner outings with the family.

As for pricing, Chulita falls into the moderate category. While not the cheapest option for Mexican food in LA, the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the dishes, and the overall dining experience justify the cost. You can expect to spend a bit more here than at your average taco stand, but the value is in the unique flavors and the memorable dining atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly spot or a place to enjoy a date, Chulita at West Adams offers a delightful experience that's worth every penny.
