CUSTOMER WHO RAMMED CAR INTO INGLEWOOD CARMAX, LEAVING A MAN PARALYZED, FACES SERIOUS CHARGERS

Andrew Jesus Arroyo, a 25-year-old man, has been charged with several felonies by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office following a violent incident at the CarMax showroom on La Cienega Boulevard around 2 p.m. The charges include attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run causing injury, and vandalism.

Officials stated that Arroyo was at the dealership for a vehicle appraisal at the time of the incident. According to witnesses, Arroyo became dissatisfied with the appraisal offer and intentionally drove his vehicle into the building, injuring multiple customers and employees. However, CarMax contested this account, stating that their employee reports do not indicate that Arroyo’s actions were connected to the appraisal offer.

The crash resulted in severe injuries, with at least one victim left in critical condition, suffering from paralysis, a traumatic brain injury, and remaining in a coma, as detailed in the DA’s complaint. Arroyo faces nine counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of vandalism for causing property damage exceeding $400.

Authorities are still investigating the motive for the attack, and Arroyo remains in custody as the case unfolds.
