INVESTORS ARE BUYING UP BURNED LOTS IN ALTADENA AND PACIFIC PALISADES

Corporate investors are buying up burned lots in Altadena and Pacific Palisades, raising concerns about community displacement and loss of neighborhood character. California Senator Adam Schiff is introducing legislation to limit large corporate investors from purchasing properties in disaster areas for six months after a major disaster. While the bill aims to address the issue, some community leaders argue that a six-month waiting period is insufficient and that more comprehensive protections are needed.
