Who's Running in 2028? Trade What You Think.
Everyone has an opinion on 2028. Kalshi lets you put money behind it. Right now, markets are pricing J.D. Vance at 34% for the Republican nomination and Gavin Newsom at 23% for the Democratic side — but those numbers move every day as news breaks.
Prediction markets have consistently outperformed traditional polls. When you trade on Kalshi, you're not just watching the race — you're in it. Buy "Yes" or "No" on who gets the nomination, and earn returns if you're right.

Residents Want Inglewood's Digital Billboards Gone
Inglewood's digital billboards are headed to the November ballot, and residents are ready to vote them out. The city has long marketed the billboards as a revenue generator — promising millions for Inglewood — but many residents say the tradeoff isn't worth it. Critics point to light pollution, the visual impact on neighborhoods, and a broader frustration with decisions that prioritize outside revenue over the quality of life for the people who actually live there. It's a tension that's become familiar in Inglewood as the city has rapidly transformed over the past decade — and this vote could be one of the first times residents get a direct say in what that transformation looks like.

The Crown Jewel of South Central Is Almost Here

South LA has long been one of the most park-scarce districts in the entire city. Council District 9 Councilman Curren Price Jr. has been fighting to change that — and Slauson Connect is his biggest swing yet.
The $40 million Recreation & Education Center sits on Slauson Avenue in the heart of South Central, and it's built for the community from the ground up. We're talking a digital media arts studio for youth, after-school programs, childcare, a community room, and 1.5 acres of green space complete with rooftop gardens and meditation areas.
But this is bigger than one building. Slauson Connect is part of a two-mile Green Corridor stretching across CD9 — connecting parks, bike paths, and open space in a neighborhood that's needed it for decades.
Councilman Price put it simply: "This connects our community. It's gonna be the crown jewel."
